Women: One or Two Better Sexual Experiences Each Month Would be “Meaningful”How important is better sex for women?

In a recent survey, 95% of female respondents said that having one or two improved sexual experiences each month would be “meaningful” for them.

The survey, underwritten by Sprout Pharmaceuticals, investigated women’s attitudes about low sexual desire.

Five hundred women between the ages of 20 and 60 participated. Four-hundred fifty of the women had low sexual desire accompanied by personal distress. Over 70% of the respondents said that low desire caused difficulty for them. Most did not know that low desire was a medical condition. (Click here for more details on the survey.)

Lack of desire is a common sexual complaint for women. Unfortunately, few treatment options are available. No treatments have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for female sexual desire problems.
