The SMSNA APP Essentials Course greatly improved my confidence and clinical skills in managing sexual health and urologic concerns. It provided evidence-based practices, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic options. Working in infectious diseases, addiction medicine, and reproductive health, I found it especially valuable for initiating nuanced conversations, identifying subtle concerns, and delivering holistic, patient-centered care through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Getting in such close proximity to prestigious professors and experts aware of the newest guidelines and practices is always a great opportunity to sharpen my skills.

In a busy primary care setting, I frequently address patients' sexual and urologic concerns. Completing two years of the APP Essentials Course, including hands-on training, has enhanced my ability to manage these issues effectively. This has reduced unnecessary urology referrals, ensured appropriate workups when referrals are needed, and improved patient outcomes. Patients appreciate avoiding specialist visits unless necessary and are more engaged in understanding how their overall health impacts these concerns, leading to healthier lifestyle changes.

Helpful in being up to DARPA’s on treatment of Peyronie’s disease.
