Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Be a current Active category member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA)
• Be a practicing clinician in urology, and sexual medicine
• Have fewer than 15 years of independent clinical practice experience at the time of application (does not include residency or fellowship)
• Demonstrate a clear interest in international education and collaboration in sexual medicine
• Have approval from their home institution for time off during the program period

Selected scholars may receive reimbursement support for:

• Economy or standard round-trip travel
• Lodging during the approved exchange period
• Local transportation and modest daily expenses

The duration, timing, and location of the exchange will be determined based on host site availability and approved educational objectives.

Applicants must submit all of the following materials:

2. Personal Statement (maximum 1,000 words)

The personal statement should address:

2. • Current clinical practice and professional background
   • Educational goals for the international exchange
   • Relevance of the proposed experience to the applicant’s home institution and patient population
   • Motivation for participation, and interest in global health Plans for applying and disseminating knowledge following completion of the program

3. Institutional Support Letter (This may be merged with the letter of recommendation if from a department chair/chief)

The letter must confirm:

   • Institutional support for participation in the program

4. Letter of Recommendation

One letter from a department chair/chief, mentor, or senior colleague familiar with the applicant’s clinical and professional development.

Selected scholars are expected to:

• Complete the approved educational exchange in full
• Actively engage in educational activities, including lectures, clinic, and surgeries (with hands-on opportunity)
• Prepare a brief presentation summarizing key learning points for the Annual Meeting
• Submit a 500–600 word written summary for society communications
• Serve as ambassadors for international collaboration in sexual medicine

Selection Process:
Selection is based on educational merit, motivation, feasibility, institutional support, and alignment with the goals of the program. Final selection is subject to program capacity and host site availability.
