SMSNA Traveling Scholar Application
(Outbound International Exchange)
Program Overview:
The International Traveling & Visiting Scholars Program is a bilateral educational initiative designed to advance clinical excellence, expand global collaboration, and promote innovation in the field of sexual medicine.
Through this program, selected SMSNA Traveling Scholars will participate in a short-term international educational experience at a distinguished host institution outside the United States and Canada. Scholars will engage in structured, observational learning alongside leading experts in sexual medicine and related disciplines, gaining valuable insight into diverse clinical practices and approaches.
This initiative supports professional growth, fosters meaningful international exchange, and encourages the sharing of knowledge within each scholar’s home institution and broader professional community.
In 2026, two scholars will be selected to travel to Brazil, with funding of up to $5,000 per scholar. Travel will be scheduled in conjunction with the XIX Paulista Congress of Urology (XIX CPU), taking place September 3–6, 2026, at the WTC Events Center in São Paulo, Brazil.
In addition to attending the congress, scholars will participate in a 10–14 day immersive training experience with a leading sexual medicine specialist in Brazil, further enhancing their clinical knowledge and international perspective.
Selected participants will be placed at one of two locations. Click below for more information:
