Committees

Basic Science

The Basic Science Committee represents the interests of the basic science community in sexual medicine and works to promote research in this field. Its main function is to integrate the basic science perspective into SMSNA’s educational programming, such as the Annual Meeting, AUA Program, and webinars. The committee may also advocate for research funding in sexual medicine. Key activities include organizing the Basic Science Symposium at the SMSNA Annual Fall Scientific Meeting and recommending members to serve on the Research Grants Committee to review applications related to basic science.
